Nodaway Chorale offering scholarship for graduating high school singers

The Board of Trustees of the Nodaway Chorale have announced the creation of new scholarship award for eligible high school seniors with a passion for vocal music.

Executive Director for the Nodaway Chorale Jim Rash says the idea of the scholarship stemmed from the Nodaway Chorale doubling their members in one year.

"We have reached the point in the past year with an increase in the number of singers and supporters and audience sizes where we are able to offer a scholarship to graduating high school seniors, which has been a dream of ours and we've reached that point."

By January 2020, the Chorale will be distributing the application forms to music teachers, guidance counselors, and principals at all high schools in Nodaway County. Rash adds anyone can apply to be a part of the Nodaway Chorale.

"We're not necessarily looking for the most accomplished singer or even someone who is planning to major in music or sing professionally, but rather for a young person who is just joyfully passionate about singing both now and in the future."
